Copy a Story
If you're a Creator or a Co-Creator of a story, you can Copy a story.
When you do that, you're making an exact duplicate except:
- Any comments and likes will not be copied over.
- The Story will not be shared with anyone until you decide to do that.
"Why on earth would I want to do that???"
It can really be handy when you want to:
- Create a different version of the story, either for a different group of friends or for yourself. For instance, you might share a PG rated version with your family but, ummm, a different one with your friends.
- Share a story with different groups and not have all of their comments intermingled.
- The smaller the group involved in a story, especially of people who know each other, the more authentic and comfortable everyone can be!
- Idea: It can be a bit of a pain getting comments from different groups for what seems like the same story duo we suggest you rename the copied Story
Add (share) a Story to another Collection
If you're a Creator or a Co-Creator of a story, you can share it to a different Collection.
When you do that, you're not duplicating the Story — you're actually putting the one Story into two (or more) places at the same time.
- Everyone participating in those Collections will see everyone else's comments and likes
- Any changes you make to the Story will immediately be reflected everywhere
"Why on earth would I want to do that???"
It can really be handy when:
- You have different Collections for groups of friends, family, maybe work or school, but your story is ok to share with everyone. An example might be a travel story. Keep everyone up to date by updating just the one story.
- If you're a parent with several kids, and you've created Child Journals for each of them, you might put the same Story of your family vacation in all of their journals.
- If you're doing a Memoir, you can share stories with friends and also put some of them into your memoir.
