Invite new people: Sharing via a link

If a friend is not yet connected to you on LifeTales, send this link to them by email, messaging app or social media.

Anyone with the link will be able to view the story in their browser. They’ll also have the option to create a LifeTales account and connect to you.

Of note: This can create unintended consequences, like if someone forwards your link — others can see your story and you might and up connecting to someone you didn't plan to connect with.

The good news is that even if they connect with you, they'll only see your other stories if you choose to share with them. No auto-sharing to your entire friends list. Nor will they even know you have other stories. No need for an awkward rejection 😒

Bonus

This can also be handy in other ways.

1. Use a Story for complicated messages: You may want to use this link to share a story by email/message, even if you don't care if the receiver connects in LifeTales.

   
   

   For example, we sometimes use a LifeTales story instead of sending a long email — it can be way better for communicating something long or complicated, using a combination of video, audio, text and pix.

   
   

   And even better, you can edit the LifeTales story, even after your link has been sent via your messaging app — great for those all-too-frequent "oopses", or "I should have saids".

   
   
2. Anyone with the link can connect with you: That can be handy for people who want to share their link with a bunch of people in a public channel (eg Twitter or Facebook). Create your own private group of followers!
